Amy Sawyer
Amy Sawyer (1863-1945) is a painter, illustrator, textile artist, and playwright. She was born in Sussex in June 1863. Sawyer studied at the Herkomer School of Art, Bushey. Between 1887 and 1910 she exhibited widely, including exhibitions at the Royal Academy, the Society of Women Artists, Brighton, and the Paris Salon. Sawyer was central to the Art and Craft movement in Ditchling, Sussex.
